Registered Marine Surveyor

Registered Marine Surveyor

Colin is a registered and fully insured marine surveyor, see 'About Colin' for more details of his experience. Several different types of survey are available.

Pre-purchase Survey

A comprehensive inspection of a vessel carried out on your behalf. All aspects of the vessel are inspected over the course of a full day. Inspections ashore and afloat are recommended and a separate sea trial can also be arranged. A full illustrated report is provided electronically and on paper. Charged per foot of length overall.

Insurance Survey

An assessment of the vessel and its equipment aimed at identifying general condition and any defects or hazardous conditions which may pose a threat to the safety of the vessel and crew. Insurance surveys also take a full day and a full illustrated report is provided.

Pre-sale survey

A full inspection as above but commissioned by the seller. This highlights any areas which may cause problems during the sale process. The report can be revised to take into account any remedial work completed. For an administration fee the report can be transferred to the buyer's name and be used for insurance purposes. Charged per foot overall.

Boat finder survey

A brief inspection of potential vessel(s) for purchase. Inspections can be carried out on a number of similar vessels in order to narrow the selection prior to viewings or full survey. Charged per day or part thereof.
